Every Glowword level is generated from a seed and checked by a solver before you see it: with the tile numbers and slot lengths there is exactly one set of words that uses every tile — no guessing, and no "watch an ad to continue".
Swipe across touching letter tiles — up, down, left or right — to spell one of the hidden words. The empty slots at the top show how long each word is. The small number on a tile tells you how many hidden words still use that letter; it ticks down when you find one, and a tile at 0 goes dark. Fill every slot to light up the level.
It counts as a bonus word: you get extra points and it is never treated as a mistake. Glowword checks your swipes against a full English word list of about 80,000 words, so normal words like ADO or AIL are always accepted.

If you trace a hidden word along a path that would block the rest, the game uses the tiles that keep the puzzle solvable. Hints are free and unlimited.
Yes. The Daily Puzzle changes at 00:00 UTC and is the same for everyone, so scores are comparable and you can challenge friends on X with a link to the same puzzle. Mondays are the gentlest, Sundays the biggest.
Each hidden word gives 50 points plus 10 per letter, each bonus word 5 points per letter (once per word), a level with no hints gets +200, and every hint costs 40. Stars: 3 with no hints, 2 with one or two hints, 1 otherwise. Replaying a level only keeps your best score.
Glowword is completely free: no ads — not between levels, not ever — no login, no download and nothing to buy. Progress, streak and best scores are saved on your device and sync with your Bazinga cloud save code if you turned it on.
